MediStart universities in Mid-, Eastern and Southern European countries, as well as the private medical campus in Hamburg, are generally self-funded. The degrees, taught in German and English, in medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine are thus based on tuition fees.
In the figure on the right you will find an overview of places you can study in and the respective tuition fees per semester. The tuition fees only need to be paid if you accept the place at the university, often as a yearly fee covering two semesters. Currency fluctuations and adjustments are possible.
Auslands-BAföG or other forms of government loans generally do not cover the costs, meaning most applicants pay the costs of the degree themselves or with the help from their family. This makes economic sense: instead of waiting for six or seven years for a place at a university, like you might in Germany, during this time you would already be able to earn money as a doctor, dentist or veterinary doctor. In Germany and its neighbouring countries, doctors are in high demand. This means you might have earned back your investment in a medical degree abroad after only a single year of working life.
For our services we charge a success fee. This helps our clients plan the start of their degrees efficiently. Our success fee only becomes payable once you actually receive an offer from a university. You will also have the possibility of cancelling your application at any time without providing a reason. In this situation you will only need to pay a reduced fee.
The success fee amounts to one year’s tuition fee (net). MediStart does not accept commission or payments from foreign universities and third parties because we exclusively represent the interests of our applicants. Should your own application through Hochschulstart be successful and result in an offer for a place at a university in Germany during your admission process, you will have the right to withdraw from your agreement with MediStart free of charge.
Applications, admission procedures and the organisation of admission tests in Germany and Austria for some universities may result in a further one-off fee to the amount of EUR 650. Be perfectly prepared with the one-week scientific preparation courses taught by doctors and university professors, organised by MediStart or foreign universities and held in Germany or Austria.
